You will, I have no doubt, realise that the

authorities of Hong Kong have done all that they could

in the matter, and that in view of the advice of their

Counsel with regard to the appeal, there was every

reason to expect that if the case had not been settled

the result would have been even more favourable to

the appellant than it was under the settlement.
